Dandy Vent Box

Dandy Vent Boxes are used in conjunction with our HE light traps. We have the option of a Flush Mount Inside or our “Standard” Flush Mount Outside to fit your particular need. Both units are easily assembled and installed.

Flush Mount Outside (FMO) Vent Box with Door

Galvanized metal Vent Box including door designed to work with Dandy Light Traps. Flush Mount Outside version is flush on the outside of the house which allows the box and door to extend inside the house. Light traps must be installed and removed from the outside with this model.

Flush Mount Inside (FMI) Vent Box with Door

Galvanized metal Vent Box including door designed to work with Dandy Light Traps. The door of the FMI version is flush on the inside of the house which allows the box to extend to the outside. Light traps must be installed and removed from the inside with this model.

European Door Vent Box (FMIEURO)

Galvanized metal Vent Box including door designed to work with Dandy Light Traps. Flush Mount Outside version is flush on the outside of the house which allows the box and door to extend inside the house. Light traps must be installed and removed from the outside with this model.

Galvanized Metal Vent Box (Does Not Include Door)

Mounted on the outside of the house this box is angled to prevent rainwater to get inside the house. Originally designed to be the perfect companion for the DB CL-1911 Tropical Inlet, it can be produced to cover any sidewall inlet size in the market.

What are common sizes that these come in?

Most common size is 12”x44” however these can be made in widths up to 56”.

Is the a difference in performance between the FMI and FMO versions?

Both The FMO and FMI light trap Vent Boxes have the same airflow allowances and light reduction capabilities.

Do I need to remove the door to remove the light trap for cleaning?

For the FMI (Flush Mount Inside) versions the door must be removed.

How many sidewall inlets do I need?

We configure the amount of sidewall inlets based on the size of the inlets requested and the total amount of CFM that will be moving through the units under minimum ventilation. The HE will allow 600 CFM per square foot of light trap. Please contact a Dandy Light Traps representative for help configuring light trap configurations.
